Where do I begin!?
It all began 14 years ago, when I started entertaining for a Holiday Park in Newquay, Cornwall (that’s where I am from). It was at this point that I first learnt my trade into the large world of entertainment. I gained a great understanding of the do’s and don’ts with DJing! This was in front of crowds close to 500 people of all ages, so getting the perfect mix of music was definitely a skill to be had!
As well as working as a DJ there for a total of 4 years, I became the Assistant Entertainment Manager where I hosted game shows, for adults and kids, called bingo, compered quizzes and hosted my own nights of entertainment for guests who were there on holiday.
I moved on from Newquay, and this is where I worked in Cyprus. I worked within Ayia Napa, Penera and Protaras as a Host, DJ and Compere at some of the most popular bars and resorts. I enjoyed learning a broad range of styles. In Ayia Napa, I was DJing for the average age of 21. In Protaras, it was more family orientated and a chance to really get to interact with the audience!
Finally, before settling down up here in the North West to DJ privately, I worked a contract on a cruise ship. This was the Island Escape, which at the time was one of TUI’s fleet. On board the Island Escape I was Cruise Host and Resident DJ. This is where I could be found 7 nights a week, on Deck 12 when all the other entertainment had finished!
Anyway, enough about me… let’s talk about you…
What event are you organising? Whether it be a small birthday or a large wedding,I can accommodate it all. The great thing with being so diverse is I want to know how you want your entertainment and DJ for the night. If you want a DJ to come as the theme of your party, this can be organised. If you want your DJ to present or host an interim game within your evening we can do that as well. The possibilities are endless!! Seriously! You tell me. If you are looking for a bit of experience to help you navigate your way through the evening, then I am more than happy to assist in planning!
What equipment do I use? I come prepared with all the equipment to make sure that I can work every venue, and not only that, do it safely. All I need from you is a plug with electricity! I have my own amps, mixers and speakers, however, if I am attending a social club with surround speakers in the venue, I am happy to plug my mixer into their PA system so it looks like I’ve always been there. As for the lighting I have carefully selected the lights, as unlike some DJ’s where they have no control over their lighting systems, I believe that the atmosphere can be set perfectly with the right mood lighting. A nice red, purple or pink for your first dance or a multi-coloured frenzy for when the partying begins!
How much will it cost you? The million dollar question! I strive and pride myself on being the most competitive option you could go for when searching for your event. In fact, I am in the middle of planning a wedding for myself now, so I know how expensive your DJ can be! The reason I can’t give you a price online is down to how unique your party will be. Everyone is different! What I can give you, is a promise that I will be the most competitive quote you have had so you can stop scratching your head while searching for a DJ!
